Kyabram teens James Jarrett, Charlie Barnett and Bohden Learmonth made their APS First XI debut for Xavier College earlier this month.
The trio, which boards at Xavier College, donned the famous red and black colours on February 4 against Haileybury.
The Twenty20 match was a memorable one for the youngsters as they clinched a 10-run victory.
Jarrett, in his first year at Xavier College, opened the batting.
The former Shepparton United talent made seven runs, before fellow Year 11 student Learmonth stepped out to make 16 runs off 20 balls.
Xavier was able to reach 7-126 from 20 overs.
Jarrett, a skilled wicketkeeper, assisted with a run-out, while Barnett held on to a catch in Haileybury’s 8-116 innings.
The APS First XI’s format has sides play matches on Friday and Saturday, with the weekend contest a one-day match.
The Ky boys were back in action the next day against St Kevin’s College, which they went on to defeat by 10 runs.
Barnett, a tearaway quick who is entering Year 12, collected 2-30 in the thrilling win.
The following weekend on February 11, Xavier College suffered a six-wicket loss to Geelong Grammar.
Learmonth — a Kyabram Fire Brigade product along with Barnett — was the top scorer in the defeat with a classy 24.
Xavier then suffered a seven-wicket loss at a home against Melbourne Grammar.
The young guns are back in action this weekend with hit-outs against Brighton Grammar and Wesley College.
