Round nine of the league’s section one division was nearly wiped after the region faced some heavy rain and weather conditions heading into the weekend.
Fixtures between McEwen Reserve Gold and Karramomus and Lemnos and McEwen Reserve Red were abandoned due to the courts being too wet on Friday.
On Saturday afternoon, the remaining section one game went ahead and delivered an interesting result as Central Park hosted Shepparton North.
Heading into the fixture, Shepparton North sat in first place, while Central Park remained in the bottom half of the ladder.
However, it was Central Park that took control of the match and dominated its ladder-topping rival.
Central Park won the match 7-46 to 2-33.
This Friday, McEwen Reserve Red hosts Central Park, while McEwen Reserve Gold travels to Shepparton North.
For the last section one match of 2024, Karramomus will play Lemnos on Saturday.
In section two, Karramomus dominated Shepparton North in round nine.
Karramomus won the match 6-46 to 3-33.
Meanwhile, Murchison won its match in a similar fashion as it defeated Central Park 6-47 to 3-35.
St Andrew’s had the bye.
With one round left in 2024, Shepparton North remains on top of the section one ladder ahead of McEwen Reserve Gold and McEwen Reserve Red.
In section two, Karramomus sits on top of the ladder ahead of St Andrew’s.
After this weekend, Shepparton District Tennis Association will return to the courts on January 10-11.
