In hot conditions and with five regular players out of action, the Rhinos C-grade team put up a great fight against a strong and experienced Cobram side last Saturday.
The Rhinos won the toss and bowled first.
Fletcher Campion took the new ball and was the pick of the bowlers with good line and length and finished with tidy figures.
The Rhinos worked hard in the field and took every catch that came their way with Cobram setting a competitive total.
In reply Dilip Boppidi and Stephen Marshall got off to a flyer and the Rhinos were cruising until Marshall was dismissed.
This started a collapse and Rhinos couldn’t quite recover and get the runs falling just short.
Dilip Boppidi was the pick of the batsmen retiring on 50.
The team thanked those played and filled in.
After their first loss this season, the second-placed Rhinos have a chance to bounce back against fifth-place Katunga at Katunga tomorrow.
The competition is quite close coming into round seven, with two games separating first and seventh place on the ladder.
