The Roar’s division one men’s outfit travel to take on Myrtleford in round 18 Albury-Wodonga Football Association action and currently sit second on the table.
Cobram are three points behind league leader Albury United, who faces a home match against last year’s grand finalists Wangaratta.
The Roar will be cheering on Wangaratta - the team they defeated 2-1 on Sunday, to prevail and at the same time hope they can knock over struggling Myrtleford.
If Roar stumble this weekend there will be more silverware up for grabs for Vince Iannucci’s side with the upcoming finals series to kick off on August 27.
Iannucci’s side held on for a crucial 2-1 triumph over Wangaratta at Apex Reserve thanks to a blistering brace from star import Keiran O’Donnell.
The striker found the back of the net in the 20th minute before he recorded his double less than five minutes following resumption in the second half.
The talented Brit now has 31 goals to his name in the campaingn.
It was a nervous final half-hour for the Roar after Wangaratta was able to peg one back in the 64th minute but the hosts managed to starve off the visitors.
Unfortunately it wasn’t the same result for Cobram’s division one women’s side.
The Roarettes suffered a 1-0 defeat to Wangaratta.
Taner Tekin’s outfit gets a chance to return to the winners’ list this weekend with a trip to take on bottom-ranked Wodonga Diamonds.
