The Cobram Tigers were at their brutal best on Saturday as they produced a dominant win over Echuca United in the Murray Football League.

A nine-goal, 59-point-to-nothing first quarter from the visiting Tigers had them in the box seat from the start of the contest, with Echuca United unable to get into the game.

At half-time the margin sat at 85, before a massive third term extended it to 135 in the Tigers’ favour.

The Cobram side continued working hard despite the scoreline, eventually running out 27.16 (178) to 4.3 (27) winners.

It was a great team performance from the visiting side, with Adam De Cicco, Harry Beasley, Tyron Baden, Ryan Mele, Darcy Pridham-McCormack and Tim Baker all named in the Tigers’ best.
The game was a significant one for Cobram’s Sam Gemmill, with Gemmill playing his 100th senior game for the club.

The win sees the Tigers remain undefeated after four games, with the club welcoming Rumbalara to Scott Oval on Saturday at 2pm.

Across the river, an inaccurate Barooga fell to a strong Mulwala side, 3.13 (31) to 14.11 (95).

The Hawks were competitive early, down by just 14 points at the quarter-time, however a 21-to-one-point second quarter saw Mulwala kick clear.
After half-time the game was all Mulwala, with the Lions running out convincing winners.

William Clarke, Cameron Johnston and Daniel Johnston were among the Hawks’ best, while Kyle Dunkley pulled on the hawks jumper for the first time after four games with the Northern Bullants VFL side.
It was a disappointing result for Barooga, with the side looking to bounce back after a big loss to Cobram and replicate its round two form that saw it almost knock off Tongala.

In round five Barooga will travel to Moama on Saturday to take on the Magpies at 2pm.
In A-grade Murray Netball League action, Cobram fell to Echuca United in a thrilling 48-46 loss.

Both sides entered this contest without a win and it was even throughout, with the lead not growing to more than five goals at any stage in the contest.
Unfortunately for Cobram, the see-sawing affair ended with Echuca in front, with a close loss the Tigers fourth of the season.

Coming off a win against Cobram last week, Barooga played host to Mulwala with a goal of picking up a second win for the season.
However, the Lions proved too strong, with Barooga falling to a 15-goal defeat.
