The Magpies junior ranks continued to be unparalleled and the club proved that fact again on Saturday.
A second consecutive unbeaten season and third straight title overall came the Magpies’ way, with Cobram unable to match the champion’s intensity.
The game saw the league’s best offensive side in Moama come up against the best defence in the division in Cobram, but the Magpies weren’t interested in being slowed down by the Tigers stoppers.
The score was 13-8 after the first quarter, and Moama continued to move away from the Tigers as the half wore on, extending the lead to seven by the half.
It was after the main break that the Magpies really started to accelerate, and it was Moama’s defense that was looking league-best as they gave up just three for the quarter.
The score was 36-19 at three-quarter time and it was just a matter of time for Moama, who closed things out 41-29.
“The girls have worked so hard for this all year so I’m not surprised they went out there and gave it their all,” Moama coach Sienna Agg said.
“They play as a team, they play together and they play for each other.”
The under-17 Magpies will bask in their premiership glory over the off-season and shift focus to make it a double in 2025.
