The Steamers journeyed to Kangaroo Flat for the top-four clash, firing in three of the four rinks to clinch their fifth consecutive win.
Moama’s Cameron Keenan opened up the most significant lead of the day in the 92-72 win, triumphant by 13 shots over Barry Anset.
Alex Marshall enjoyed a tight battle with Greg Podesta, but the Scotsman nonetheless prevailed by five shots, with Kevin Anderson rounding out the winners for the Steamers by 10.
Brad Marron pulled back a rink for Flat, defeating Travis Kelly 25-17, but Moama’s triple threat was enough to secure the 20-shot victory and 16 points.
Despite this, the Steamers dropped a position on the ladder, slipping to third after South Bendigo secured a percentage-boosting win over Inglewood.
Moama and South continue to share equal footing in the competition on the win-loss, with five wins and two losses on the board.
The Steamers’ five wins have come after two losses to start the season, making them one of the competition’s in-form teams.
The only club with a better record over that time is the undefeated Bendigo, and a challenge from the ladder leaders will land right on Moama’s doorstep on Saturday.
The Steamers face the pacesetters at Moama Bowling Club on Saturday in their biggest test of the season, with the clash starting at 1.30pm.
