From the first bounce of the round four clash, the Tigers came out roaring, putting away three between the big sticks before the visitors could reply in kind.
Inaccuracy in front of goal cost the Tigers as the second term got under way, and it wasn’t until after Echuca added another two majors to its bucket that the Tigers managed to open the margin to a 28-point lead at half-time.
The second half continued the way of the Tigers outfit, who took control in front of goal to score another four majors.
But more missed opportunities saw the Tigers post almost as many behinds as majors on the scoreboard, which settled on a margin of 65 points to the Tigers, 17.14 (116) to Echuca 8.3 (51).
Hunter Hardwidge was named the Tigers’ best on ground.
Major contributors were Jackson Trengove (three goals), Will Irwin (three), Tyron Baden (two), Tim Garlick (two), and Lucas Roberts (two).
It was also a milestone game for CFNC president and forward flank-man Matt Demaio, who marked his 200th MFL senior game.
The best players for Cobram were Hunter Hardwidge, Jackson Trengove, Lucas Roberts, Tyron Baden, Luca Allen and Adam Champagne, while Brady Simpson, Matthew Lias, Mitchell Boyd, Jackson Lewis, Connor Langley and Grady Smith were named the best players for Echuca.
Reserves
The Tigers’ reserves outfit has consolidated its place atop the ladder after a 57-point drubbing over the Eagles at Scott Reserve.
A Callum Hulley hat-trick made short work of the United backline, while vice-captain Koby Withers made a statement with another six-major performance, earning himself best-on-ground.

Despite the best efforts of the Tigers’ defence, the Eagles managed to pull away in the third quarter with two goals, while inaccuracy in front of goal cost the Tigers chances to further extend their lead.
But even so, the final siren saw the score level at 12.12 (84) to Echuca’s 4.3 (27).
The best players for Cobram were Koby Withers, Matthew Sorrenti, Harvey Sneddon, Jack Hay, Chase Hardwidge and Harris McCarthy.
