The match was an under-16 representative game between Victoria Country and Victoria Metro as part of the 2024 AFL National Development Championships.
The contest itself was fierce and tight as the match went down to the wire, Metro eventually winning 4.7 (31) to 4.5 (29).
Country started the match in fine fashion, taking control of the game early on a deck that was bathed in sunshine.
However, Metro came to life in the second quarter as the match soon became an arm wrestle, with Metro eventually running out a winner in the tight affair.
Geelong Falcons’ (Country) Ava Bilyk and Eastern Ranges’ Brylee Anderson (Metro) were named best-on-ground for their respective sides.
Moama product Beth Morris was part of the Country team.
