The junior netballers were handed a 62-31 defeat, before the open netball contest in the afternoon.
Ovens and Murray began brightly at Mooroopna Recreation Reserve with a 12-7 opening term.
However, the visiting side was able to put its foot down in the second quarter with a blistering 19-6 performance.
Lily Kelly was on fire for Ovens and Murray, netting 14 goals.
The host regrouped at the main break and managed to add a further 10 goals to its tally in the third term.
However, Ovens and Murray held on to its dominant lead and ran out a 31-goal victor.
Shepparton Swans junior Chloe Brown was lively in wing attack, while Swans teammate Ella Morgan flew the flag in defence.
Shepparton’s Eliza Bicknell was another standout for the home side in the midcourt.
The clash on Saturday was a tune-up for both outfits as they prepared for Sunday’s Netball Victoria Association Championships in Albury.
