Mooroopna was hung out to dry by PEGS on Sunday despite a chilly Shepparton climate.

The Cats returned to Shepparton’s Smurf Turf after the Junior State Hockey Championships took centre stage during the bye round, but it proved to be a blue day indeed.

Facing second-ranked PEGS (Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School) Hockey Club in the Women’s Vic League Two, Mooroopna was handed a 3-0 loss with a Claire Aston double supplementing Milla Conn’s solitary strike.

The defeat keeps the Cats in middle ground, sitting fourth on the ladder with six games of the home and away season remaining.
