Both players and supporters of the cricket club will benefit from the $30,000 commitment, with Gepp visiting Cobram to make the announcement as part of the 2022/23 Victorian State Budget.
Set to upgrade both the male and female toilet facilities at the Bank Street Club Rooms, the upgrades will provide adequate space for the club’s 100-plus strong membership.
Changes will include new toilets, the refurbishment of existing toilets and new accessibility features.
Gepp said with grassroots sport back, more than ever clubs like the Cobram Tigers needed quality facilities they could depend on.
“Better facilities make it easier for Victorians to get back into local sport and recreation and live active and health lifestyles,” Gepp said.
Minister for Community Sport Ros Spence said the government's investment in sport was about levelling the playing field, creating jobs and ensuring community sport thrives.
“Victorians love their sport, and so many Victorians are thrilled to get back out there to their local clubs, get active and connect with their family and friends again,” Spence said.
“We’re investing in community sports infrastructure because we know it’s good for local families, and we know it’s good for local workers too.”
