Cobram trots club clears obstacles

The heat and the rain failed to get the 2025 version of the Cobram Harness Club’s cup meeting scratched earlier this week.

The meeting, originally scheduled for last Sunday, was postponed to Monday due to the hot conditions.

Club officials then had to deal with rain on Monday, but fortunately not enough to call off or postpone the meeting again.

It wasn’t an ideal scenario for the club’s biggest meeting of the season, but it went ahead, much to the credit of the club.

The feature events on the six-race card, the $15,000 Jim Phillips Memorial Cobram Pacing Cup and the $15,000 Central Murray Credit Union Trotters Cup, were both won by Goulburn Valley-trained favourites — Sirlou and Kings Guard, respectively — which went over well with punters.
