Finishing the season in third place with just two losses, it has been a successful year for the Tiger cubs, and after knocking off minor premiers Mulwala last week in the preliminary final, the side will be full of confidence heading into the decider.
Speaking ahead of the big game, Cobram co-coach Duane Kelly said the team was super excited to play for a premiership.
“It’s been a great year for all involved,” Kelly said.
“From when we started the pre-season, the genuine improvement in every players’ skills and attributes that they provided to the team has been fantastic.
“We couldn’t be prouder of how the kids have come together and played as a team.”
Kelly explained that Moama had some “very good players” in its team, with the game set to be a fantastic hit out.
The Magpies only lost one game during the home-and-away season, with a round seven defeat at the hands of Mulwala the only blemish of the year.
Last time the two sides met it was Moama who got over the line, however in a grand final, anything is possible.
“Moama finished above us on the ladder and we go in as the underdogs,” Kelly said.
League best-and-fairest Mickael Corso will be one to watch on the weekend, with fellow co-captain Wade Mele and vice-captain Jack Iddles also set to stand out.
Midfielder Tanky Krause has also had a solid season in yellow and black, while ruckman Kyden Rodda and forwards Sam Slatterie and Eamon Hyde should also be in for a big one.
