Cobram Lawn Tennis Club is welcoming new and old faces through its doors for another summer of action.
The club is fielding three sides in the Goulburn Murray Lawn Tennis Association season, with two outfits in GM2 — including reigning GM3 champions Cobram Cobras — and one outfit in GM4.
The 2021-22 GMLTA season began at the weekend.
“The Saturday pennant season has just started and everyone is excited to finally be back out playing,” club president David Bate said.
“It’s great to have three sides in this year. It allows our upcoming juniors to have more of a chance to play at a higher level.”
The club will also begin its social tennis competition on November 18.
Thursday night social tennis will consist of teams of three.
Bate encouraged anyone who was interested to attend the registration night on Thursday.
“We are starting up social tennis nights which will be on Thursdays from 6pm,” he said.
“Our registration night will be on this Thursday and we’ll have a barbecue and the bar will be open. COVID-19 restrictions have impacted our usual Thursday teas but it’ll still be great to come along and see everyone.
“We are also running practice and training on Tuesday evenings for anyone looking to have a hit.
“We have also started our junior tennis and hotshots program and the courts have been filled with juniors, which is always great to see.”
