The CBGC committee organised a fundraising day for our own Steffi Vogel, with all proceeds from entry fees, raffles, sausage sizzle and fun events going to help Vogel continue her dream of being able to go on the Pro circuit.
The committee would like to thank all those who donated prizes for raffles and other fun events, it was great to have such generous support. A big thank you to local golfers and visitors for entering this fun day. There was a field of more than 130, which was fantastic.
A highlight of the day was Vogel on the par-3 fifth hole, taking the shot for any player who paid a nominal fee. Most players were quite happy to have their ball put on the green, but Bryan Eddy was ecstatic watching Vogel hit his ball for a hole-in-one! A perfect ending for a wonderful, fun day as a club.
Vogel is in Thailand this week participating in another tournament. Good luck, we are very proud of your achievements, and we are all right behind you in our support.
Interclub pennant
Last Monday both teams played at Rich River in the last game of the winter pennant season. Division one had already secured its place in the final, but division two had to win against Shepparton to make it into the final, which it did in fine style, winning three, one square and one loss. It was a very exciting trip home on the bus! Congratulations to both teams and all the best in the final.
SWAGGERS
Another great representation from the women members last Friday when 13 took part in SWAGGERS, hosted by Tocumwal Golf Club.
It was a very successful day with nearly all the girls coming away with a win of some kind. Congratulations to Lorraine Heenan on winning B-grade with the highest score of the day, 35 points. Trish Scandrett won A-grade with 34 points. It was another great social day supporting local events with great club spirit.
Wednesday
It was a perfect day for golf, with 40 women taking part in four-ball best-ball stableford R.W. Hospital qualifying event.
Congratulations to the qualifiers, Jane Tozer and Ruth Messner, who had a very impressive score of 44 points.
