James McMaster and Reuben Haley will be heading to Tochigi, Japan, to compete in the 2024 World Speedgolf Championships from November 13 to November 15.
Speedgolf is a fast-paced version of golf in which competitors must move as fast as they can through an 18-hole course.
Although speedgolf follows the same rules as standard golf, that’s where the similarities end.
In speedgolf, players are given less than an hour to complete their 18 holes.
As if that wasn’t enough, players are permitted a maximum of seven clubs for each round.
The winner of a competition is the player who completes the course in as little time - and taking as few shots - as possible.
Mr McMaster has competed in various international tournaments including the US Open, British Open and the Australian Open.
He is currently ranked ninth in the world for speedgolf.
It will be Mr Haley’s first appearance in a speedgolf world championship.
Mr McMaster and Mr Haley will face reigning speedgolf world champion Jamie Reid of New Zealand in the race for first place.
