There is no denying 2022 was a difficult year for Tatura netball. Heck, even coach Fiona Boyer admits as much.
“It was definitely a tough year,” Boyer said.
Tatura finished 11th on the ladder, tasting defeat 16 times and registering just two wins for the year.
But fortunately for the Bulldogs, there is hope that things are on the up in 2023.
“In the off season we have been working on recruiting and also maintaining a core group of what we had last year,” Boyer said.
“Definitely are our goal is to win more, win more games, of course. But also to be competitive with that top six group and place ourselves so we’re in a position to compete for finals this year.”
Stephanie Smith-Gorrie, Elsie Boyer and Molly Kennedy look set to be some of the key players for Tatura this season.
A familiar face and a new name will be on the court for the Bulldogs too — former coach and A-grade player Molly Boyle has returned to the club, while Julia Clarke has moved across from Kangaroo Flat.
This upcoming season will be Boyer’s second as Tatura’s A-grade coach.
