The Bombers continued their horror start to the season with an 88-point loss to Huntly to be 0-8 for the year.
With several key players missing from the side and coach Cam van Florestein unable to make the trip due to lockdown, the Bombers never looked likely across the day, with the Hawks kicking six goals to one in the opening quarter of the game.
Leitchville-Gunbower was only able to add another goal in the next two quarters.
The Bombers finished the match with their best play of the day to register three in the final term.
Flynn Campbell led the way for the Hawks with 10 majors, while Jordan Formosa was the dominant player on the ground.
For the Bombers, Tom Brereton continued his excellent run of form on the season with another best on ground performance, but again lacked support from his young team.
van Florestein said absence was one of the biggest challenges for the season so far.
“It was a really strange feeling for me not being able to make it,” he said.
“We had to make seven changes which made for a rough day and it's a challenge when senior guys aren't there at all.
“We have the bye next week and hopefully when that's over we will get a number of guys back and all be able to make the trip.”
