The Blues have taken their streak to open the season to eight wins following a 10-goal victory against Rumbalara.
Without notable players Cam Ilett, Darren Ewing, Jack Monigatti and Nick Jamieson due to travel restrictions, the Blues easily accounted for the Rumba none the less, never truly looking threatened as the game went on.
Tongala coach Jordan Souter said while the result had gone their way, their return to the park was not their best game.
“It probably wasn't the prettiest game we've played,” he said.
“But it was good to get the job done. We had a different looking line-up compared to what we've had this season with travel, but that didn't have too much of an impact on us.
“Everyone did their part in the game. We may have had one or two guys who stood out, but what we are always looking for is a full team effort and that's what we got out there today.”
The Blues will now turn their attention to the competition's heavyweight in Nathalia.
The Purples have dropped just one game for the season, falling to the Blues in round one.
Souter said the game would have a major impact on the season ahead.
“A win there gives us two games over the competition,” he said.
“It would set us up really well for the remainder of the season to be in that position. But they're obviously a fantastic side so it won't be easy to beat them.
“They haven't lost since we played in round one, they have really hit their straps since then so we know we are going to have to play our best football to get the win.
“We will have a recovery session on Tuesday, get in a really good training on Thursday night and get ourselves ready to face them. It's a really important week.”
