The BPS swimming carnival was typified by huge participation across all events.
This year saw the inception of the inaugural Swimming Handicap Trophy which is awarded to the house which accrues the most points per students across all events.
Murray house proved too strong this year winning both the overall points score and handicap trophy.
House captains Lola Goodwin and Jordan Talbot were met with a massive cheer from their housemates when they hoisted the trophy aloft.
An impressive six students were selected to represent Finley PSSA at the Western Riverina AFL trials — Ollie Ryan, Blake Cameron, Charlie Noonan, Luke Dunn, Mack Holt and Wyatt Twite.
The trials were recently held in Leeton with Ollie selected in the Western Riverina team. Ollie competed strongly all day spending time in the ruck as well as being a target both up forward and down back. Ollie now moves on to the final Riverina AFL trial held later this month.
In other sports, Alby Brooks played strong tennis at the Riverina pre-selection trials held in Deniliquin, winning two out of his three matches but narrowly missing out on advancing to the next round.
In soccer, seven students will be vying for selection in the Finley PSSA soccer team at the Deniliquin trials to be held soon.
BPS even has a professional lawn mower racer! Blake Cameron recently competed in a meet at Cobram finishing in the placings in several heats.
BPS will be participating in an increased range of NSW PSSA knockouts this term including netball, Aussie rules and the Division Three Small School Knockout.
Each knockout presents a unique opportunity for students to bond together in a team environment in a competitive atmosphere.
