Last Tuesday, midweek pennant round seven was cancelled due to rain and all matches will be replayed at the end of the season on the spare day set aside for just this sort of scenario.
Let’s hope that this coming Tuesday is rain free, although we do have thunderstorms predicted.
As stated, no Saturday pennant was played so nothing to report there.
Barooga did hold a trade day last Thursday with 24 teams attending, but unfortunately, there are no details available as to winners etcetera.
A total of 16 bowlers attended Keith’s Friday and were able to play and complete their games before the thunderstorms rolled in.
Winners were the combination of Libby Jennings and visitor Trevor McBain from Dimboola with plus 20. Runners-up were Ruth Burnett and Des Toohey with plus nine.
The best first game winners were Archie Ellis and Tex Penna with plus 12, and the best second game winners were Andy Jennings and Bob Bamford with plus 13. The jackpot did not go off and is over $100 for this Friday.
The Christmas party on Sunday, December 15 should be on all our members’ radars.
Let’s make it the social event of the year, so please put your name down on the list provided or contact Liz Ewing on 0407 931 647 with your numbers attending to assist with catering.
A great night with good food and live music for $25 per head with drinks at bar prices available. All members should attempt to attend.
Training is on this Wednesday anticipating that pennant will resume on Saturday.
