Euroa export Jamie Elliott has turned his back on AFL free agency, signing a contract extension that will see him remain at Collingwood until the end of 2025.

Playing his 150th game for Collingwood in its memorable seven-point win over Melbourne on Friday night, the mercurial small forward has been a long-time fan favourite, kicking 224 goals since his debut in 2012.
And after injury plagued his 2021 season, Elliott has returned with a bang in 2022, kicking 21 goals from 14 games and leading the Pies for ground-ball gets inside 50, marks on the lead, disposals inside 50 and tackles inside 50.
Collingwood general manager of football Graham Wright said it was fantastic to lock Elliott away for another three seasons.
“We’re pleased to extend Jamie for another three years, and to hopefully see him play out his career at the club,” Wright told the Collingwood Football Club.
“Jamie is an instrumental figure in our program. Across 11 seasons he has a wealth of football smarts, which is invaluable to the youth of our group.
“In addition to this, Jamie is a player that stands up in the moments that matter, inspiring all members of our program.
“We respected the fact Jamie was a free agent at the end of this year, and we are glad to come to terms that see him at the club until the end of 2025.”
Elliott celebrated the extension with a dominant performance against the Demons on Friday night.
The most dangerous forward on the ground, the Euroa product booted a game-high four goals, with his exploits in the attacking 50 pivotal in lifting Collingwood to the memorable victory.
Congupna’s Steele Sidebottom was also prolific in the Magpies’ win, racking up 20 disposals and taking nine marks on the wing.
Mooroopna’s Clayton Oliver was back to his brutal best for Melbourne, picking up 42 disposals and laying eight tackles as he did all he could to get the reigning premiers over the line.

He also won a staggering 14 clearances, had seven score involvements and collected 24 contested possessions, sending an ominous message to the rest of the competition come finals time.
Benalla’s Harry Morrison continued his outstanding season for Hawthorn, collecting 20 disposals and taking six marks in a spirited seven-point win over Gold Coast in Launceston.
A late inclusion for Tim Taranto, Invergordon’s Lachie Ash did an excellent job tagging Essendon midfield maestro Zach Merrett.
Keeping the Bombers star to just 18 disposals and one mark on the day, Ash also managed to collect 13 touches himself and take six marks as the Giants recorded a much-needed 27-point win.
Seymour young gun Sam Durham was a shining light for Essendon in the loss, picking up 23 disposals and taking three marks.
Mooroopna’s Jy Simpkin continued his purple patch, recording 31 disposals, six clearances, six tackles and five marks in North Melbourne’s 38-point loss to Sydney.

Reigning Brownlow Medallist Ollie Wines was once again prolific for Port Adelaide, with the Echuca product racking up 32 disposals and six marks in a tough 38-point loss to Richmond.
