Police had to get a man down from on top of a building at St Brendan’s Church on Friday night after a chase by police through Shepparton streets.
Shepparton police Sergeant Mark Phillips said police were called to a domestic dispute at a Regent St house about 9.40pm on May 17.
When police tried to serve an 18-year-old man with a safety intervention order, he allegedly fled and tried to hide.
The Police Air Wing, which happened to be in Shepparton at the time, tracked the man as he ran along several Shepparton streets in the surrounding area, and through a backyard in Sutherland Ave, Sgt Phillips said.
He then allegedly ran through the oval shared by St Brendan’s Primary School and Notre Dame College and climbed over a fence to the nearby tennis courts.
With six police officers in the area, the man climbed three metres off the ground on to the community centre at St Brendan’ Church.
Police got the man down shortly after 10pm and he was detained to be served with the safety intervention order.
