A person has died after a car crashed into a tree near Wunghnu on Monday, March 7.
A Victoria Police spokesperson said a passer-by discovered the scene of the crash on Boundary Rd about 5am.
The spokesperson said initial investigations by police indicated the grey ute was travelling west when it veered off the road and hit a tree.
The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene, the spokesperson said.
The time of the collision and the circumstances are being investigated.
The driver is yet to be identified.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
