A man who was caught drug driving on a suspended driver’s licence has been fined $900.
Christopher Flay, 28, of Mooroopna was charged with drug driving and driving while suspended.
His matter was heard in his absence in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court.
Prosecutor Leading Senior Constable Chris Cole told the court police pulled Flay over in Brauman St, Shepparton on February 13 after their number plate recognition device flagged the car he was driving as being owned by a suspended driver.
When they stopped him, they found his licence was suspended on January 9, and he also tested positive to methamphetamines in a drug test.
Flay told police at the time he had used ice the night before, Leading Sen Constable Cole said.
His car was impounded immediately for 30 days.
Flay was fined $900 and was disqualified from driving for 12 months.
