With the season having ended for all but a few clubs, it’s time for the silly season to get into full swing.

It’s started — as it always does at local level — with re-signings, and there are plenty of off-season signatures floating around for those not still alive in finals.
Among those were two that Oddie imagines are quite similar on paper.
The Kyabram seniors coach and Shepparton reserves co-coach have both been locked in for 2023 — that of course being Paul Newman and, well, Paul Newman.
While Oddie knows full well they are two very different people, the Pauls could add some mystique, akin to the McKay twins at AFL level, and have one mysteriously miss each time Kyabram and the Bears clash.
Either that or one lazy Saturday we see Paul Newman of the Bears variety rock up at the Kyabram clubrooms while Paul Newman of the Bombers variety has a go running the Shepparton twos.
Or they just carry on as per normal.
Just a quick patch job
There’s been plenty of talk about potholes in the lead-up to the election, with Doyles Rd a hot button issue and the Goulburn Valley Hwy showering itself in glory.
Oddie even noticed a pesky one out the front of the News office was getting fixed on Thursday afternoon.
After the storm on Friday afternoon, however, any repair work was rendered moot — and then some — with the rains washing away any and all improvement made.
Oddie received a nice reminder of this when rolling into the office first thing on Monday morning.
Anyone know someone who can fix suspension of a car on the cheap? Also, someone who can put Oddie’s neck back in place would be nice...
