Eden, who has recently turned four herself, has already decided what the standard fare for birthday and Christmas celebrations should be for everyone around her.
First on the list is a coffee from the local, plus whatever chocolate she can get her hands on.
Novelty socks are also high on the agenda — although she couldn’t find any Bluey or Spiderman ones for me this year.
But comfortably her favourite gift to carefully select is a bunch of supermarket flowers.
She’ll carefully peruse the produce at the front of our local shop until she happens across a suitable bouquet.
Her excitement levels peak at exactly the moment I thank her for her efforts and hand the bunch back to her to put in a vase.
It does make me wonder who the flowers are really for.
Bonnie, who turns one this month, is much more interested in trying to grab handfuls of cake when it comes to birthday events.
She’s getting the hang of being sneaky, playing ‘calm’ until the guard of those around her is down enough to pounce.
The two of them will make for a dynamic duo when it comes to mischief in the future, I can already see it.
