A writ has been officially issued in the case of a woman suing a Shepparton school and a former teacher over alleged historical sexual abuse.
Camille Waring is suing Goulburn Valley Grammar School alleging the school did not do enough to prevent alleged sexual abuse of her during her time at the school in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Her lawyers, Arnold Thomas & Becker, allege the school knew, or ought to have known, that children at GVGS were at risk of being abused and they sought to cover this up.
Ms Waring, who agreed to be identified, is also suing former teacher Rodney Stuart Howes, who she says abused her.
The plaintiff is seeking a civil trial be held in the Supreme Court before a judge alone.
Ms Waring is suing Mr Howes and the school for lost income, legal fees and medical expenses.
Ms Waring was a student at the school from 1988 to 1993, when she was aged 14 to 18.
Mr Howes was found not guilty of raping Ms Waring in a criminal case.
