Residents are incensed drivers going for a sticky-beak or tour of flood waters in Shepparton are making waves which flood already at-risk houses.
Janine Saxon lives on McGregor Crescent, just off McIntosh St, and said she and some other residents had been on the street trying to get people to slow down.
“Some people are listening,“ she said.
“People have been driving through all morning, the water started coming up about 8am and then got really bad about 12pm (noon) and we’ve had this for two hours.”
She gestured to a car driving quickly through flood waters, causing waves to ripple up against houses already at-risk.
“The water is over the road and cars aren’t slowing down, which is flushing it into the driveways and houses of people,” she said.
“We just want the people having a look to go home.
“Some people don’t realise going fast through water pushes it into everyone else’s houses.”
