Roger has always wanted nothing more than a family to hear his roar.

He might be small enough to hold in the palm of your hand, and his voice currently might be more a plaintive peep than a roar. But the six-week-old kitten has the spirit of the fiercest lion of the Serengeti.
When Roger was dropped off at Petstock Country Cobram in a cardboard box, he joined the long list of animals looking for a loving home.
That’s why the Petstock Foundation is running its annual National Pet Adoption Month in stores across Australia this March.
As part of the occasion, Petstock Country Cobram is teaming up once again with Goulburn Valley Pet Adoption & Rehoming to ensure that as many rescue animals find the home they need.
The initiative arrives as over 10,000 animals from cats, dogs, reptiles and even horses search for a loving home across the country.
Petstock Country Cobram assistant manager Marcelle Soule couldn’t be more excited about the upcoming event, emphasising the value of adopting, not shopping.

She said there are many animals in foster care at the moment.
“Everyone deserves to have a warm bed at night, and I think it’s important we help these kittens find their home,” Miss Soule said.
As anyone might know, there’s nothing quite like the connection between a pet and their owner. That relationship came to the fore like never before, Miss Soule said, during and after COVID-19.

“It’s a different kind of relationship now because there was that long period of time when we didn’t have that human interaction,” she said.
“So we found that somewhere else - with our fur babies.”
To meet Roger and other fur babies looking for their forever home, come down to Cobram Country Petstock on March 22.
For an adoption fee of $250 per animal or $450 for two, each animal comes desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. Proceeds will go towards the Petstock Foundation to be spent towards the store’s nominated charity partner, GVPAR.
