She watched her parents grow the family business from a young age, and has used that to propel her into being recognised as one of the best young female accountants across several countries.
The business, Valley Environmental Solutions Australia, is still going strong in the hands of her husband Jimmy and herself, with Jimmy travelling all across Australia installing irrigation technology.
Wearing both those hats, plus being the mum to three young boys Billy, Cooper and Tommy, isn’t easy, but Mrs Daniel is thriving.
Mrs Daniel has just become an associate at PTP Cobram, after helping open the Cobram office 12 years ago.
She took several years off between the births of her first and third son, working with the family business, but said she came back in 2020 because she knew “she had more to give” and wanted to help business navigate the COVID pandemic.
She said her experience in business made her a better accountant.
“I gel with clients not just as a person who looks at money, but I understand cashflow issues and staffing issues from a personal level,” she said.
“At the start of COVID businesses were lost, they didn’t know who to turn to and being able to help felt really nice.
“The pandemic’s been a rollercoaster, some businesses have thrived and some have been left destitute.”
Named as one of the Top 50 Women in Accounting in April — one of just a handful in regional Australia to get the honour — Mrs Daniel said using accounting to improve businesses, not just report on them was part of what drove her.
She grew up in Cobram, and outside a few years away for study has lived along the Murray her whole life.
She said she was excited to step up as an associate, the rung below partner, and would keep working with businesses across both sides of the border to get the best out of them.
