The families in Finley are certainly taking on board celebrating Halloween, and last Thursday night was no exception.

Children, under the guidance of mums and dads, dressed suitably for the occasion and did the rounds of the community with best wishes and the hope of receiving sweets.
Tongs St was a hive of activity, with a large number of people taking the opportunity to view the magnificent but scary display created by Elsinore Harris and her family.
Elsinore is well known for her displays for special occasions, and certainly excelled this year.
There was a constant stream of people, both on foot and in cars, to witness the features which were very impressive (and scary!) both in daylight and after dark.
The family is already getting ideas for next year.

Just a reminder that members of the Finley RSL Sub-branch will be located outside Finley IGA in the lead-up to Remembrance Day, selling the traditional poppies and other memorabilia.
The sub-branch will also be conducting a street stall on Friday and would like to thank the community for its continued support.
Then, of course, there is the traditional Remembrance Day service to take place in the Finley Memorial Park this coming Monday, November 11, commencing at 11am.
All are welcome to attend.

Also, a reminder that the Finley Hospital Auxiliary is extending the special sale of clothing into November.
This is an ideal opportunity to call into the Op Shop and pick up some bargains.
The members are excited about raising funds to assist with extra necessary items when the hospital has its upgrade.
New members would be most welcome to assist in the shop.
