Slab to be poured at new Ambience Bakery Café

The site is being prepared for the foundation slab to be poured next week.

Owner Renee Lincoln said herself and her partner, Andrew, began searching for a larger location, so the business could move forward and grow.

“I wanted to do a drive-through bakery,” Mrs Lincoln said.

The new premises, Mrs Lincoln said, would allow the bakery café to offer up to 100 seats.

At its current location on High St, the bakery’s building permits space for 30 seats alongside a few picnic tables outside on the pavement.

Mrs Lincoln added that with the additional space, the bakery would continue its work donating food to local charities — only now there would be more space to provide more of that food.

“At the moment, anything left over at the end of the day I spread between eight different places. Having more room, I can produce more room and donate more food,” she said.

“I don’t put money into big charities — I keep it all local, so that way I know where the food’s going.”

She also said it would be a good opportunity to employ more local staff, and that customers could expect the same scrumptious feeds as always.

In addition to the current fare, Mrs Lincoln said the bakery would also offer a grab-and-go fridge for breakfast, morning tea, lunch and dinner meals.

Mrs Lincoln said the project was expected to be completed by early April next year — just in time for Easter.
