A man is trapped in a vehicle after a two-vehicle crash at Stanhope on the afternoon of Friday, October 20.
Police believe a man driving a white Great Wall ute was travelling along the Midland Hwy, when his vehicle and a trailer being towed by another vehicle, collided head-on about 4.30pm.
The impact forced the trailer to jack-knife and was then pulled off the vehicle’s towbar.
Police said the driver of the white ute, a 55-year-old man from the Ballarat suburb of Delacombe remained trapped in the vehicle at 5.40pm and will be taken to hospital for treatment.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said the man was being treated for upper and lower body injuries and was in a serious condition.
The other driver, a 55-year-old Congupna man, was not injured, police said.
An air ambulance helicopter has been dispatched to the scene.
The Midland Hwy is closed in both directions between McEwen Rd and Middle Rd.
The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.
