This fundraiser raised a phenomenal $56,125 towards the Opening Doors Project.
Dealer principal Steven Morley said he was shocked when he first heard they had been announced as the winners.
“We were taken aback, we just couldn’t believe that we’d been drawn,” Mr Morley said.
“It’s not everyday that you get your name drawn out of a barrel.”
Unfortunately, the group couldn’t attend the raffle due to prior work commitments, but still found out the news relatively quickly.
“Luckily news travels fast on social media. It was actually my wife who saw it online and then told me,” he said.
As to what they plan to do with the vehicle, Mr Morley said that “being the lucky winner, we aim to look at all options which include continuing to support community organisations where possible, so watch this space for further news.”
Morley Auto Group has been a long time supporter of CLRS through its various fundraising events.
Mr Morley said CLRS was a vital and much-needed service within the community that they were proud to have supported through their Opening Doors Project — that will provide a home to four people.
“We are grateful to CLRS for the service that they provide in bridging the gap between disability care and community involvement,” he said.
“We are also thankful to every individual or organisation that raised money towards the Opening Doors Project.”
Representatives of the Morley Auto Group were given a tour of the units that have been built as part of the project.
Mr Morley said he was blown away by the stand out quality of the homes.
“The units look fantastic,” he said.
“We are thrilled to have contributed to such an amazing project.”
