The Rochester Australia Day Committee will kick off the day with its annual service.
Beginning with a breakfast catered by the Rochester Lions Club in the morning, locals are invited to spend the morning together at the Lions Park.
The club will be serving up bacon and egg sandwiches, along with tea and coffee from 7am.
They have also organised entertainment for the occasion, with singer and guitarist Amelia May set to serenade audiences.
A flag-raising ceremony is set for 8.30am, led by the 1st Rochester Scouts Group. Rochy local Barbie Walker will also be the event’s guest speaker.
The all-important Australia Day awards will then be presented, with recipients in the categories of Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Sports Person of the Year, Junior Sports Person of the Year, Community Group of the Year and Arts Person/Group of the Year.
Down the road, Elmore Progress Association will be hosting a breakfast and Australia Day event on Sunday, January 26 at Elmore Community Hub.
From 8am, attendees can enjoy a breakfast together, provided by the EPA.
City of Greater Bendigo Mayor Andrea Metcalf will welcome proceedings and speeches at 9am.
A morning tea will then be served from 10.30am. The event is partially funded by the City of Greater Bendigo Council.
Elmore Community Hub is located at 3 Clarke St, Elmore.
Girgarre
Girgarre Memorial Hall is hosting a flag-raising ceremony, presentation of awards, barbecue breakfast and music from 8.30am to 10.30am.
The event is co-ordinated by the Girgarre Community Group Inc.
Koyuga
From 6pm the Koguya Hall will host a sausage sizzle and the annual yabby races, co-ordinated by the Koyuga Memorial Hall and Recreation Reserve Committee.
Lockington
A breakfast and flag-raising ceremony will be hosted at the Lions Park from 8am to 10am.
From 10.30am to 12.30pm, a kids’ fishing competition will be held at the Lockington Channel, with the events co-ordinated by Lockington Lions Club and the Action Club of Lockington.
