Ms Hanson, who declined an interview with the Ensign, had only just begun to speak when a man approached and shouted “We don’t want you here”, and “I turn my back on you”.
A couple of Ms Hanson’s supporters replied, saying they didn’t want him there, before police intervened and the man left.
Ms Hanson then addressed the crowd of 50 to 60 people that had gathered outside Benalla Art Gallery awaiting her arrival.
Ms Hanson was welcomed to the Rose City by local One Nation candidate Beth Stevens.
Her visit was part of a trip around Victoria, which also featured speaking events at Shepparton, Bendigo and Warragul.
