Born: 1949 in Brunswick East.
Family: Wife Marilynne. The couple has been married for 50 years. Children Tim, Daniel and Gabby and three grandchildren.
Education: Coburg West State School, Fawkner, Broadmeadows and Oak Park high schools. Coburg Teachers College.
Work history: Primary school teacher at Culla Primary School for two years, Edi Upper for three years, Yarrawonga for three years, Cobram Consolidated School for 10 years and Strathmerton for three years. Katandra West Primary School as principal for 13 years.
Community involvement:
I played football with Barooga from 1978-82, won best and fairest in my first year and played in the team which won four premierships. I coached my two boys in the Colours at Cobram Football Club.
A member of Cobram Rotary Club since 1992, two years as president and three years as Rotary Assistant Governor.
Joined Moira Shire Council in 2013 and a member of council for eight years, including two years as mayor.
On the committee of Ottrey Homes and CSIS and have served on local school councils and various sporting clubs and committees.
Most memorable moments?
When I married Marilynne and we had our children and then grandchildren. Playing competitive basketball with my two sons.
What is on your bucket list?
Some travel when we can, to Broome and also New Zealand to visit Cameron Mattox, who taught in Cobram some years ago.
What do you love most about Cobram?
The river, the climate, the people and great friendships we have made.
