Ms Williams was director healthy communities and environments at Greater Bendigo City Council before taking on the new role and brings more than 19 years of local government experience to the position.
She said she was looking forward to working alongside local staff to deliver effective and efficient council services.
“I’m excited to get started as CEO of Murray River Council — it’s a privilege to be given this role, and I take seriously the responsibility I have to councillors, staff and the community,” she said.
“I look forward to getting out and about over the coming months and meeting the many community groups, community members and local leaders.”
Mayor John Harvie welcomed Ms Williams to the role and said her extensive experience and local knowledge made her an ideal fit for the position.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Stacy to MRC. Her leadership, vision and strong understanding of regional communities will be an incredible asset as we continue to deliver for our residents,” he said.
Ms Williams is based in the Moama office but will be available to staff and the community as she makes her way around the council area in the coming weeks.
