And one local school won the VEEA Education Support Team Award.
The awards aim to support the continued professional development of staff, with professional learning grants of up to $25,000 for the winner in each category.
The Mooroopna Park Primary School wellbeing team consists of school chaplain Brooke Bowles, wellbeing co-ordinator Lisa Hueston and speech therapist Surabhi Budhiraja — and won the Education Support Team Award for the school.
The VEEA said the team was chosen due to its work with its wider community to improve outcomes for students and their families.
“It was such an amazing feeling to be recognised as the most outstanding education support team for our wellbeing work here at MPPS,” Ms Hueston said.
“It really is a win for every member of our education support team who work so hard to look after the wellbeing of our students and families both in the classroom, through our healthy eating program, the Community Hub and our other wellbeing programs here at school.”
School principal Hayden Beaton said the school was proud to bring home the award.
“Winning the award is wonderful recognition for all the hard work the staff at Mooroopna Park put in each and every day,” Mr Beaton said.
“This is a big achievement, and all staff at MPPS should be congratulated for their continuous dedication to the students and school community.
“We will continue to support our students and families, we are always looking at ways we can improve our support for students and families.”
