A Mooroopna house was destroyed in a suspicious fire in the early hours of Friday, December 2.
Firefighters were called to the Maher St home just after 1am.
CFA District 22 commander Pete Dedman said the home was well alight when firefighters arrived soon after.
Fire completely destroyed the home, but firefighters managed to protect neighbouring properties.
Five fire units attended the blaze, with about 25 firefighters fighting it.
Mr Dedman said the fire took about 40 minutes to get under control.
It was fully extinguished and blacked out within two hours and 20 minutes of the call-out.
Mr Dedman said no-one was at home at the time of the fire, but it was a house that was being lived in.
Police confirmed on Friday afternoon the fire was being treated as suspicious.
Police arson chemists were at the site inspecting it on Friday.
