“Moara Shira Lodge in Cobram was closed last year, and the men who occupied it were dispersed and found accommodation in other towns and centres,” Mr McCurdy said.
“This accommodation centre has now been taken over by vandals, who have smashed all the windows, graffitied the walls and ripped up the electrical supply.
“Over the weekend I met with locals who told me that the Victorian Government has let this accommodation be trashed and ruined, and they are fearful as to what will happen next.
“I have seen photos of this building that show the disgraceful vandalism that has occurred.
“What plan does the government have to stop this behaviour and clean up the mess?”
The Victorian Government has been contacted for comment.
