Students and staff were encouraged to wear their favourite footy teams’ colours in exchange for a gold coin donation to be donated to the Fight Cancer Foundation, which provides support to children with cancer and their families.
Essendon emerged as the clear favourite on the day, with Richmond coming in second.
The whole school then took the time to learn more about Fight Cancer Foundation’s mission and the impact of cancer on children each year.
A total of $365 was raised through the gold coin donations and the school’s online fundraising page.
After a morning of footy and fundraising, the students celebrated Father’s Day early with their annual Bloke’s Day.
The celebrations kicked off with a barbecue lunch followed by an exploration of children’s classrooms, some games and activities and a performance of ‘Boot Scooting Baby’.
The students concluded the afternoon with a game of football against their dads.
