A man died following a single-vehicle crash in Shepparton East on Saturday, May 20.

Emergency services were called to Channel Rd following reports a ute had crashed into a power pole about 4.50pm.
The male passenger in the ute, a Shepparton East man, was transported to Goulburn Valley Health by ambulance in a critical condition, but died.
The driver of the vehicle, a 52-year-old Shepparton East man, was airlifted to a Melbourne hospital with upper body injuries in a serious but stable condition.
The crash happened just east of Beckham Rd.
Channel Rd was closed between Beckham Rd and Coach Rd.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The man’s death is the 21st one on the region’s roads since New Year’s Eve.
It follows the death of a man in a crash between a van and a car at Girgarre on Thursday, May 18.
The man who died in that collision at the intersection of McEwen Rd and Winter Rd has been identified as a 19-year-old Queensland man who was driving the van.
