Loco Shed Echuca will open its doors to the community on Sunday, July 21, after weeks of preparation by staff.
Guests are welcome to see the 160-year-old, heritage-listed site for the first time in decades, following significant restoration completed in 2000.
Recently, Heritage Victoria awarded funds as part of the 2020 Living Heritage Grants Program for the Loco Shed’s restoration. The grant provided $190,000 for conservation of the site.
From 9am to 1pm on July 21, the community can explore the building, view historical photographs and records, and learn about its future as a museum and function space.
Loco Shed committee members and volunteers have been restoring the space, and the open day offers a chance to see their work.
Loco Shed is located at 95 Sturt St, Echuca. Enquiries can be made at info@locoshed.com.au and a Facebook event has been created for the open day.
