Writer and poet Cate Kennedy read from her award-winning short story Art and Life, along with fellow writers Lisa Moule, Natalie Vella and Marian Edmunds.
Sam and Adam Furphy were delighted with the outcome of the event and look forward to what talent next year may bring.
"Once again we are thrilled to bring wonderful stories to the page and collected in this year's Furphy Anthology,” Adam said.
“Listening to the authors read a small piece of their works whets the appetite for more, and we hope many will discover the same when reading."
This year’s book features a collection of 16 stories, addressing topical matters such as the floods and COVID-19, as well as perennial subjects relating to coming of age and tough upbringings.
Over 600 stories were entered in this year's competition and next year is expected to receive even more interest.
Entries for the 2023 Furphy Literary Award will open on February 1 and can be submitted via the Furphy Storywebsite.
