Kyabram Blue Light will stage its second annual event this Saturday, February 18, at Kyrabram Skate Park.
This time around some world class talent will grace the Kyabram ramps, with professional skateboarder Renton Millar to run a free skateboarding lesson in the morning before the competition begins.
Eastern Region Youth Resource Officer Senior Constable Mitchell Bull said Millar brings world-class experience to Kyabram.
“Under the Ky Blue Light banner we’ve hired professional world cup pro Renton Millar to run the comp this year,” Sen Const Bull said.
“He’s bringing his skills and knowledge up to Kyabram and will be running some free lessons for the community beforehand between 10-11am.
“To have a world cup pro who’s won medals in just about every country under the sun is pretty big for Kyabram.”
The competition has also introduced an under 12s age category this year, with history and bragging rights on offer for the first prospective under 12 champion.
Millar’s skate lessons begin at 10am and are open to all ages and abilities, before the scooter competition kicks off at noon.
The BMX competition will follow at 1.30pm, before the skate competition at 2pm.
All three events are open to under-12, under-14 and open age groups, with medals and prizes on offer throughout the day.
