That passion for aviation has now permeated into her professional life as a published author, photographer and editor.
Growing up in Finley, and having a father with a private aviation license, Kathy was always going to take an interest in planes and aviation.
When her father handed her the controls as a 16 year-old, she was hooked, learning to fly in the preceding years.
Now a twice published author, Kathy writes captivating true stories about Australian women in aviation.
Her first book Australian Women Pilots: Amazing True Stories of Women in the Air was published in 2020.
Her second book, Take Flight: Incredible Stories of Australian Women Who Reach for the Sky, has now been released.
Kathy is now touring and talking at a number of different venues around NSW and Victoria, including the Tocumwal Optimists’ High Tea Fundraiser at the Murray Border Flying Club tomorrow.
