Two new members — George Peters and Clint Haywood — were inducted by former district governor Peter Poels at the dinner on June 26.
Robert Peachey was master of ceremonies for the night, which celebrated 47 years of service in the local community.
Mr Lukies, who is stepping down from the role after three-and-a-half years, handed the gong and gavel over to Mr Moffatt as part of the ceremony.
“It was one of our best changeover dinners we've had,” Mr Lukies said.
“It's hard to get members so it's great to see some new faces after a pretty tough time with COVID-19.”
Arthur Jeffrey, who has been involved in the club's junior public speaking program and school camps for Katamatite Primary School, said goodbye to the club after seven years of service.
A certificate of appreciation was awarded to Lachlan Ross for his community services with the club and the Royal Children's Hospital Appeal.
Mr Ross spoke on the night about his experiences with the hospital, having had numerous operations on his heart.
The club donated $500 to Dale Westrope on behalf of the Long Ride for Prostate Cancer, a charity event he is completing with his father Chris Westrope.Katamatite Primary School principal Jason Whiteley also received $250.
The club thanked the staff at the Yarrawonga-Mulwala Golf Club where the changeover dinner was held.At the end of the night it was believed that the gong was `stolen’ by a member of the Tungamah Lions Club.
“We've done it ourselves in the past, it's just a bit of banter between the clubs,” Mr Lukies said.
“We will have to attend one of their meetings to get it back.”
